The LX-II switch has a positive break normally closed contact and an auxiliary normally open contact. When the rope is tensioned, contacts 3-4
(fig. 2) are closed and contacts 1-2 are disconnected. For example, with the LX-II switch, contact 3-4 opens and contact 1-2 opens when the rope is pulled (fig. 1). For pull-rope switches with a locking mechanism, e.g. LX-II, contacts 3-4 are disconnected when the pull-rope is pulled and contacts 1-2 are locked in this state. To unlock the switch, simply press the VD head or use the unlocking key. When mounting the switch, tension the drawstring appropriately. So that the switch rotor is in the middle position (fig. 2). The drawstring switch should be installed as follows so that no dangerous situations arise when unlocking it by hand.
When installing the pull cord, remove the red plastic cover from the clamping area of the pull cord and install the pull cord as shown in figure 2. When tensioned, the pull rope or rope over may be unlocked or broken, so take care that the rope is fitted correctly. When the rope is pulled, the pulling ring will be deformed, therefore the rope needs to be pulled hard several times after installation, after which the rope should be tightened with a DUPLEX-clamp or a ring eye screw and spanner. When the rope is pulled over 3 m, supports are required (every 2-3 m). Be aware that when the length of the cable is increased, the ambient temperature is applied due to the thermal expansion effect. When connecting the cable, take care to use a screwed-on piece that is compatible with the protection class. There are two M20 x 1.5 cable trolley lead holes. To open the lid, simply unscrew the screws on the lid. When the wiring is complete, make sure to clean the inside of the switch (e.g. wire residue) as foreign bodies can affect the performance of the switch. When the switch has been wired, close the box cover and tighten the screws on the cover evenly and firmly.
Maintenance:
Under the conditions of correct installation and attention to the matters described above, only a small amount of maintenance is required. When the application environment is harsh, regular maintenance is recommended as follows.
1. Check the switch function (pulling the pull cord) and the position of the middle point of the switch rotor.
2. Check the cable leads and connections.
3. Remove dirt.
4. Check for damage and fixing of the pull cord.
